Born in Yerevan in 1959, into a family of renowned musicians. Graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory (class of Prof. Geronty Talalyan). Since 1986 Nikoghayos Vardanyan is an artist of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. In the staff of the orchestra he has toured extensively throughout Armenia and abroad, and has participated in many th festivals. Within the frames of the 6 Yeravan International th Music Festival Nikoghayos Vardanyan participated in the 80 anniversary concert of Michel Legrand as a solo bass player together with the great composer and the ANPO. As a chamber musician within the frames of the Yerevan International Music Festival, Nikoghayos has collaborated with famous musicians such as Daishin Kashimoto, Alexander Sitkovetsky and other guest artists. As a jazz musician, bass player, Nikoghayos Vardanyan started his activity in 1986, at the Yerevan International Jazz Festival performing with the Dutch Swing College Band. Further on he had numerous performances with renowned jazz musicians and ensembles, among them Michel Legrand, Chick Corea, Igor Butman, Daniil Kramer, Georgy Garanyan, and others. As a solo bass player, from 2001-2004 Mr. Vardanyan has participated in the concert tours of the world-famous Arab singer Fairuz, which took place in Switzerland, Kuwait, Jordan, the USA, Canada, Lebanon, U.A.E and elsewhere. In 2002 N.Vardanyan has participated in a recording of a CD with Fairuz on EMI label and took part in her concert at Beiteddine Festival (Beirut, 2001).
