“Hover” State Chamber Choir is always open to new ideas and forms in choral art. The choir appeared with numerous performances in various genres: vocal-symphonic, operatic, chamber, miscellaneous traditional and experimental projects.
Hover Chamber Choir had collaborations with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia and Armenian National Ensemble of Soloists. The choir many times participated in the “Yerevan Perspectives” festival performing diverse and multifaceted programs.
Hover regularly performs works by Armenian composers. The choir is the initiator and the first performer of works by V. Sharafyan A. Avanesov A. Azizyan S. Yerkanyan, E. Yerkanyan, S. Babatorosyan. Hover Chamber Choir released 8 audio CDs and recorded sountracks for such movies as:
“Namous”, “Ararat”, “The Lark Farm”, and others.
The choir performed in Italy, France, UK, Germany, Austria, Russia, Poland and participated in a number of competition-festivals. Hover Chamber Choir had concerts in such prestigious venues as: Teatro dal Verme," “Site de la Musique” and others. S. Gubaydulina, R. Schedrin, K. Penderecki, G.
Kancheli and a number of other well-known modern composers & highly appreciated performance of their works by Hover State Chamber Choir.
The choir cooperated with prominent musicians, such as G. Kremer, A. Mustonen, R. Shervinikas, D. Geringas, J.Nelson, M. Klauza.
In 2011 Hover Chamber Choir has become the member of the National Center of Chamber Music.
The Choir was awarded with Gold Medal of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia. In 2017 the Choir celebrated its 25 th anniversary.
Hover State Chamber Choir is founded and led by the Rector of Yerevan State Conservatory, Honored Worker of Art of Armenia, Mrs. Sona Hovhannisyan.
