Evgeny Stavinsky was born in Dubna, Moscow region, in a family of musicians. In 2003, he completed his university-level studies as singer and choir conductor at the Academy of Choral Art (Moscow-based prestigious academy of singing founded by Victor Popov). He spent from 2004 to 2005 in Florence, Italy, to study the course with Maggio Musicale Fiorentino where he performed the title part in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, as well as the parts of Lord Sidney and Basilio in Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims and Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and Superintendent Budd in Britten’s Albert Herring. Upon return to Russia, he sang in a number of recitals and concert programs, and in 2005 took up the appointment of conductor of the City Symphony Orchestra of Dubna. In 2006, joined the Moscow Novaya Opera Theatre founded by Maestro Evgeny Kolobov.
Finalist and prize winner of the Riccardo Zandonai Opera Singers Competition, Evgeny Stavinsky has been the invited singer of the Laureates Concerts in Riva del Garda, and performed in the Riva Music Festival productions including Verdi’s Requiem conducted by Isaac Karabtchevsky, and Verdi’s Rigoletto (as Sparafucile), conducted by Marco Boemi. Among the engagements the role of Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust at Opera Theatre in Budapest and at Novaya Opera where won the award “Gold Mask” as best actor in Opera in 2018, Oroveso in Norma by V. Bellini at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti at Teatro Comunale in Bologna where he opened 2018 season with Colline in Bohème, Messa da Requiem by Verdi with Orchestra La Verdi in Milan and in Tenerifee , Requiem by Mozart at Carlo Felice in Genoa, Zaccaria in Nabucco in Nice and Toulon. In July 2018 the debut at Royal Opera House Covent Garden in L’Ange de Nisida from La Favorite by Donizetti. Among the next works, Zaccaria in Nabucco at Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna and at Teatro Comunale in Ferrara, Ivan Khovansky in Chovanščina in Budapest, one Concert in “Mysterium” by Nino Rota at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Messa da Requiem by Verdi in Dublino, Padre Guardiano at Liceu di Barcellona, Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti and Don Carlo by Verdi at Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
