Yana Daryan graduated from the Yerevan Tchaikovsky School of Music, the Komitas Conservatory and postgraduate studies (class of Prof.S.Khachatryan). She continued musical training at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Bern under the guidance of Prof.Hartmut Rohde and Christoph Schiller. During the years of her study she has taken masterclasses with Walter Levin, Thomas Kakauska, Bruno Canino. Yana has participated in a number of festivals in Berlin, Saltzburg, St. Moritz, Schloss Waldegg, Bern, Yerevan (“National Gallery”, “Baroque”, Yerevan International Music Festival) and others. Since 1990 Yana Daryan is an artist of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1990-2010 she has been the solo violist of the «Serenade» Chamber Orchestra. Yana Daryan is the first performer of many new works written for viola. In the staff of different ensembles, such as “Serenade”, “ Narekatsi”, Esprit (Switzerland), Trio EGrazia,
Ms.Daryan has performed in various European venues. She has appeared as an artist of Berner Kammerorchester, Schweizer Kammerorchester, Orchestre Symphonique Neuchatelois, Berner Sinfonietta and other orchestras.
Y. Daryan has collaborated with Sinfonieorchester Bochum and Philharmonie Essen. She has worked with renowned composers Tigran Mansurian, Krzysztof Penderecki and distinguished musicians such as Wolfgang Meyer, Diemut Poppen, Daishin Kashimoto, Alexander Chaushian, Yuri Zhislin, Natalia Lomeiko, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Aram Talalyan, Suren Shahijanian, Levon Chilingirian and others.
In 2020, during the pandemic, Yana Daryan has participated in the online and later in live chamber music projects, such as «The Classics for All», Tet-A-Tet, Chamber Music series of Aram Khachaturian House-Museum and other projects.
Since 2020 Yana Daryan teaches at the Yerevan Conservatory and the Romanos Melikyan College of Music.
