Pianist Vardan Geodakian was born in Gyumri. He refined his skills under the tutelage of masters Armen Babakhanian and Peter Lang in Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and in Mozarteum Salzburg. Now, he continues his studies under the guidance of Professor Alexander Paley at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Geodakian regularly appears on stage not only as a soloist but as an accompanist and chamber musician as well. He’s a top prizewinner in several international piano competitions in Malaysia, Lithuania, Armenia and Italy.
In 2019 he made his orchestral debut playing Grieg’s Piano Concerto with YSC Orchestra at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. In September of 2023 he played Second Piano Concerto by Franz Liszt with Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra in Kaunas Philharmonic Hall under the baton of Constantine Orbelian and recently appeared on the stage with Alexander Paley with whom he played Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos in Kaunas Philharmonic Hall with Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Martynas Staškus).
From 2013-21 was a member of the “Meknark” state target program (Artistic director Armen Babakhanian). He is a recipient of more than 10 scholarships.
He also took part in many festivals and projects including “Edgar Hovhannisyan Fest”, “Amicitia Sonans”, “Commemoration Night”, “Aš – Dalis Tavęs”. Geodakian concertized in Armenia, Italy, Lithuania, Austria, the USA, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Geodakian had masterclasses with artists such as Pavel Gililov, Dmitry Bashkirov, Alexej Gorlatch, Svetlana Navasardyan, Boris Berman, and others.
