Tigran Melkonyan was born in Yerevan. He is a soloist with the Yerevan Opera Theatre. Tigran has participated in a number of concerts in Armenia and abroad, including the Brussels Town Hall, the Luxembourg Bourglinster Castle, Kaunas State Philharmonic and Birshtonas (Lithuania), to name but a few.
Tigran has performed at V.Spivakov’s ‘Moscow Meets Friends’ Festival, and has has been a scholarship holder of Spivakov International Charity Fund.
Tigran Melkonyan has collaborated with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Yerevan Opera Theater, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra the Military Orchestra of the Armed Forces of RA, as well as with Komitas National String Quartet.
Tigran Melkonyan is a graduate of “George Solti Bel Canto Accademia”. He has participated in masterclasses given by Richard Bonynge, Barbara Frittoli, Roberto Frontali and Jonathan Paap.
Tigran is a winner of a number of national and international competitions. He is a member of the Young Artists Opera Program of the Yerevan Opera Theater.
Among his operatic roles are: Harlequin (I Pagliacci), Nemorino (‘L’elisir d’amore’), Alfredo (La Traviata) and other roles.
With the ANPO Tigran has performed the tenor parts in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (Conductor: Eduard Topchjan) and Mozart’s Requiem (Conductor: Günter Neuhold).
