Born in Berlin, the mezzo-soprano Stepanka Pucalkova graduated in 2005 studying singing at the High school of Jan Neruda in Prague and 2007 she continued to the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. There she worked under the guidance of Elisabeth Wilke, Josef Wallnig and Eike Gramss and in the year of 2012 she was awarded a master’s degree in opera. In the same year Stepanka Pucalkova was awarded by the organization Stiftung the Mozarteum Medal of Lilli Lehmann.
She performed in a number of productions at the Salzburg Mozarteum University and Landestheater in Salzburg, including roles such as Mozart´s Idamante (Idomeneo), 2nd Lady (The Magic Flute) and Marcellina (The Marriage of Figaro), Octavian (R. Strauss: Der Rosenkavalier), Larina ( Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin), Galatea (Handel: Aci, Galatea et Polifemo) and Annina (Verdi: La traviata). In summer of the year 2013 performed Stepanka Pucalkova In Salzburg in the Haus for Mozart as Lehrbube at the Salzburger Festspiele (Wagner: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) with the conductor Danielle Gatti and directed by Stefan Herheim. In March 2014 in Salzburg presented Stepanka Pucalkova here self as Sesto (Mozart: La clemenza di Tito) and in the same role in summer of year 2014 at the Teatro Romano Fiesole in Florenz (Italy).
Worked with famous conductors and directors as Danielle Gatti, Stefan Herheim, Mariusz Trélinski, Mirga Granžynite-Tyla, Friedrich Haider, Marco Guidarini, Jiří Heřman, Leo Hussain, Eike Gramss, Keith Warner, Roland Böer ao.
In autumn of 2014 Stepanka Pucalkova performed as a guest in the Prague State Opera in the role of the Servant (R. Strauss: Salome), in the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava (Rosina in Rossini’s Barber of Seville and Annius in La clemenza di Tito), as well as Mercedes (Bizet: Carmen) in Landestheater Bregenz und Landesthetare Salzburg.
In the season 15/16 this young mezzo performed as her role debut the role of Suzuki (G. Puccini: Madama Butterfly), as Stéphano (Ch. Gounod: Roméo et Juliett), as 3. Lady (W.A.Moazrt: The magic flute) and as 1. Maidservant (R. Strauss: Elektra) in the State opera Prague.
In season 16/17 she made her role debut on the famous opera easter festival “Osterfestspiele Salzburg” as Siegrune (R. Wagner: Die Walküre), conducted from Ch. Thielemann.
She was on tour in Japan with State opera Prague as 3. Lady (W.A.Mozart: Die Zauberflöte), she made her debut as a guest on Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck as Kitchenboy (A.Dvořák: Rusalka). She is winner of 2. prize as “The best female voice” on “Concours international de Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini” competition in Marseille, France. Engagemntes with Karlovy Vary Symphony orchestra, Brno Philharmony and as Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) and Stéphano(Roméo et Juliette) in Nationaltheatre Prague.
In the past season 17/18 she made her China debut in cooperation of Easter festival Salzburg and Bejing music festival, as Siegrune (R. Wagner: Die Walküre).
In June 2018 she made her debut as Charlotte (J. Massenet: Werther) in Nationaltheater Prague. It was a co-production with Oper Frankfurt, directing by Willy Decker.
Concerts in Norway with Kristiansund Orchestra and Copenhagen with Copenhagen philharmonic orchestra.
Ms. Pucalkova is from the season 18/19 soloist on Semperoper Dresden.
On Mozart week 2019 she will perform Davide Penitente mass (W.A.Mozart).
