Sofia Tumanyan is a soloist with the Yerevan Opera Theater. She has had numerous concerts in Armenia and abroad, at concert halls such as Musikverein Golden Hall in Vienna, Mozarteum Great Hall in Salzburg, Leighton House Hall in London, Croatian Music Hall in Zagreb, Villa Badoer in Veneto, LAC theatre hall in Lugano, Cankar Hall in Ljubljana and elsewhere. She has participated in the Festival della Valle d’Itria, Souni dal Golfo festivals in Italy, Beethoven festival in Switzerland, and has performed in the opera house of Naples Teatro di San Carlo.
Sofia Tumanyan is a winner of the Angelo Affinita International Competition in Italy, and has been awarded with Special prize by Richard Rodinski at Aram Khachaturian International Competition.
Sofia Tumanyan has appeared in Verdi’s opera “Il Trovatore”, Bellini’s “Norma”, Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades”, Janaček’s “Káťa Kabanová”, Stepanyan’s “Sasuntsi David”, Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice’’, Verdi’s “La Traviata”, Bizet’s “Carmen” at opera houses in Armenia and other countries.
Sofia has frequently collaborated with the orchestras of the Yerevan Opera Theater, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, the “Croatian Chamber Orchestra”, the “Orchestra Excellence” and the “Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana”.
