He was born in Getafe, Madrid, in 1991. He began his trombone studies at the age of 7 in Municipal School of Music from Getafe “Maestro Gombau”, he continued his studies in Professional Music Conservatory from Getafe, and finally he studied in Conservatorio Superior of Music from Aragón with Ximo Vicedo Davó and Daniel Perpiñán. Before move to Armenia, he was studying conductor degree, in Spain, in Conservatorio Superior of Music from Aragon with Miquel Rodrigo and Borja Quintas.
He joined as active student in numerous masterclasses with Jose Rafael Pascual Vilaplana.
Currently Santiago is assistant conductor in Nineties Trombone Ensemble. He has conducted Armenian National Philarmonic Orchestra, “Stravinsky Chamber Ensemble” in Verbier Festival 2017
(Switzelrand), CSMA Trombone Choir (Spain), Banda de música Ciudad de Ponferrada (Spain), Banda Sinfónica Complutense (Alcalá de Henares, Spain), Banda Sinfónica de los Conservatorios de Occidente (Guatemala) and Uruguay Children Orchestra (Uruguay). Since 2010 to 2018 he was artistic and principal conductor in Agrupación Musical Delicias (Spain).
As profesional trombone player he has collaborated with Spanish Radio Orchestra, Cadaqués Orchestra, Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, Spanish National Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and Galician Symphonic Orchestra, and Verbier Festival Orchestra 2017, 2018 and 2019. Since September 2018 he is solo bass trombone in Armenian National Philarmonic Orchestra.
He had the privilege to play for great conductors like: Sir Simon Ratle, Valery Gergriev, Daniel Harding, Charles Dutoit, Gianandrea Noseda, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Antonio Pappano, Mikhail Pletnev, Chistoph Schenbach, Andrey Boreyko, Lahav Shani, Fabio Luisi, Vasily Petrenko, Lutz Kohler, Manfred Honneck, George Pehlivanian and Juanjo Mena.
