Born in Armenia, soprano Nina Minasyan became a soloist at the Yerevan Conservatory Opera Studio in 2010. She won prizes at the Tatevik Sazandaryan and Pavel Lisitsian singing competition and later joined Young Artists program at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow where, under the guidance of Elena Obraztsova, Evgeny Nesterenko, Lyubov Orfenova, Mzia Bachtouridze and Diane Zola, she perfected her skills.
Nina made her stage debut at the Bolshoi Theatre as Xenia in Boris Godunov, and went on to perform in productions as The Queen of Spades, The Love for Three Oranges, Prince Igor, L’Enfant et les sortilèges, and Così fan tutte. She has also performed in concerts at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Highlights of past seasons include her Deutsche Oper debut in Berlin and sang Gilda in Rigoletto at the Bolshoi Theatre under the direction of Evelino Pidó. She later sang the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and at the Opéra national de Paris. She performed Norina in Don Pasquale at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and then made debut performances at La Monnaie and Teatro Real de Madrid in The Golden Cockerel. At the Vienna State Opera, Nina performed the role of the Queen of the Night and has made her Köln Opera debut as Gilda. She also sang Oscar in Un ballo in maschera in Paris and Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Holland Festival.
During the 2022/23 season, Nina starred as Musetta in La bohème at the Vienna State Opera and made her role debut as Sophie in Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier at the Dutch National Opera of Amsterdam, conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Viotti. She performed as Violetta in La traviata at the Semperoper Dresden and Croatian National Opera, Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman, and appears in Marina Abramović’s 7 Deaths of Maria Callas in Amsterdam. She recently performed in Traviata in Dresden, as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi in Montecarlo, in L’Elisir d’amore at the Regio di Parma and in Pelléas et Melisande at the Liège Opera.
Among the engagements for the 2024/25 season: Lucia di Lammermoor at the Carlo Felice in Genoa, Rigoletto at the Wiener Staatsoper, La Traviata in Pamplona.
