Born in Moscow and has been living and studying in Venice since 2011. She began taking piano lessons at the age of 4 and for 2 years she studied with Maestro Alexander Maykapar, famous Russian harpsichordist, organist and pianist, composer, professor at the “Gnessin” Academy of Music. Beyond the basics of piano, Maestro Maykapar manages to give Maya a very broad and deep approach to classical music. At the age of 6 Maya made her first public appearance in a concert dedicated to organ music with Maestro Maykapar in the Lutheran Cathedral of Moscow, singing Italian Baroque arias and a scene from Verdi’s “Traviata”. In 2015 she entered the “Benedetto Marcello” Conservatory in Venice, where she studied for 7 years under the guidance of Maestro Massimo Somenzi, and continued with Maestro Muriel Chemin and Maestro Olaf John Laneri. Maya is the winner of numerous national and international competitions for young
musicians. At the age of 12, she performed music by Debussy and Bartok at the inauguration of the first Musikàmera 2017 season at the Teatro “La Fenice” in Venice. On June 3, 2021 she performed for the first time in a concert as a soloist accompanied by the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Eduard Topchjan in the “Aram Khachaturian” hall in Yerevan, performing Concerto n. 3 by Beethoven, in honor of M° Riccardo Muti and the Ravenna festival on the occasion of the passage to Yerevan for the 2021 “The ways of friendship” project and in presence of Maestro Muti. The program was repeated at the Toniolo Theater in Venice accompanied by The Padua and Veneto Orchestra and at the Verdi Theater in Florence with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Maestro Topchjan. In October 2021 Maya plays the Concerto n. 23 by Mozart with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra at the Quirinale Palace in Rome in occasion of the Official visit of the President of Armenia to Italy, in the presence of President Sergio Mattarella and the President Armen Sarkissian. In the summer of 2021 and 2022 she attends masterclasses with Maestro Lilya Zilberstein at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, where she met and started collaborating with one of the most talented young Italian cellists, Ettore Pagano, winner of the 2022 Aram Khachaturian Competition in Yerevan. The young duo played already two concerts in Torino and Venice, and planning to give more concerts in 2023. In May 2023 is planned Maya’s debut concert in Sala Grande of Teatro La Fenice in Venice with the orchestra of the theater.
