Armenian soprano Juliana Grigoryan is among the most promising talents of her generation. Winner of the First Prize and the Audience Award at the Operalia Competition in 2022, she performs in the most prestigious opera houses including the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. In her hometown she collaborated with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia.
In the 2024/25 season she is Iphigénie in Iphigénie en Tauride in Baden Baden, Musetta in La Bohème in Houston, Nancy, at the Regio in Parma and at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Liù in Turandot in Seoul and at Covent Garden in London. She then performed in Les Pecheurs de Perles in Berlin, L’Elisir d’amore in Hamburg. She also sings Requiem Mass with the Orchester National de France, Le Cercle de l’Harmonie in Paris and with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
In the 2023/24 season, Juliana made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in the role of Liù in Turandot followed by her debut at the Opéra de Bordeaux in the role of Mimì in La Bohème and subsequently also at the Arena di Verona, returning then in the role of Liù at Caracalla summer Festival with the Rome Opera House. Concert highlights include the Victoria de los Ángeles Centenary Gala at the Gran Teatre del Liceu with the Prague Philharmonic as well as at the Ravenna Festival for a gala concert with Riccardo Muti. At La Scala she was the soprano soloist in Mozarts Requiem.
Juliana graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory. Winner of the first prize at the Stanislaw Moniuszko International Vocal Competition, she also received the Marcella Sembrich-Kochańska Prize and the Krystyna Bochenek Prize. In 2024 she was awarded the prestigious Hilde Behrens Prize to celebrate the 87th anniversary of Behrens birth.
